The town Ahtopol is situated on a beautiful island 80 km. south of Burgas near  the mountain Starndzha . Here the summer days are more than anywhere else on the Bulgarian seaside , and the water - worm from May to October .

3 km . in the north is located the town  Varvara - a favorite place of the divers , because of its amazing reefs and coves .

6 km . in the south is situated the village Sinemoretz and the area Butamya with its wonderful beach .

The bay Selistar  is the most enchanting beach . The sea is smooth and the water -  limpid . Everyone can dive into the bliss of nature and forget the daily problems .

The history of Agatopolis ( i .e. Ahtopol  ) is very rich . Some people  think it is named after Zeus\\\'s granddaughter - Agato , other - after the Byzantine general Agaton . Translated from Greek Agatopolis means city of happiness love and prosperity .
